As a youngster, we would go to Chapel Hill Tennessee to visit family every summer. I remember being fascinated with the southern food. Home made ice cream, country ham (with red eyed gravy) right out of uncle Earls Ole smoke house.
All that was delicious, but the southern barbecue was always the main attraction. Smoked by my cousins Earl jr and James Pitts.
Ive learned from the ones that came before me, and get inspiration many others, at the top of the list is my father Irvin Pitts sr. He had a soul food restaurant on 18th and Broadway. ( Irvs lil bowl circa 1970s Louisville, Ky )
Now, after a few competitions, many family cookouts, and some catering, I would like to give it a go. So far were getting great reviews. I would like to invite you to give us a try.
